Back for its fourth year! West Vincent Township Sustainability Committee and The Chester County Environmental Agricultural Coalition host a FREE event in celebration of National Seed Swap Day. It’s where gardeners of all ages and experiences can come together and share their favorite seeds.
In celebration of preserving the sustainable gift of growing and National Seed Swap Day, the West Vincent Township Sustainability Committee and the Chester County Environmental Agricultural Coalition are hosting the fourth annual seed swap event Saturday, January 25th 2020 at the West Vincent Township Building, 729 St. Matthews Road, Chester Springs, PA 19425. The event is from 10am-1pm and is FREE to anyone interested in sustainable growing, farming and gardening.
Bring seeds, take seeds, catalogs, share stories & build community. All budding gardeners and experienced growers are invited to join friends for the Chester County Seed Swap and giveaway.
If you have seeds to swap, great! If not, that’s ok too! It doesn’t matter what types they are or whether they’re in packets or jars or even retail varieties. Tell others about your favorites and learn about new and interesting varieties. Find some heirlooms and rare finds too.
The seed swap provides a chance to grow food that’s not typically sold in supermarkets and fosters crop diversity. Although people have been swapping seeds since time began, nowadays people usually buy seeds and the old skill of saving and swapping seeds is disappearing from our culture.
Admission is FREE and refreshments are provided.
