EAC Presentation, Lundale Farm: April 12, 2021

The East Nantmeal EAC on Monday April12 at 7 pm, will host a presentation by Lundale Farm via zoom

The Forestry Committee of Lundale Farm was formally recognized in November 2018 after months of work was completed by Drs. Michael Haas and Kevin Hicks to remove Ailanthus trees throughout Lundale Farm, concentrating around the orchard area and the bake house at 2501 Pottstown Pike. The forestry committee was charged with both controlling the Spotted Lanternfly and Ailianthus tree populations at the farm, and developing and implementing a sustainable forestry management plan that would recognize the exceptional resource that the forest is to the farm and provide recommendations for how to best manage the forest for future generations. After more than a year of research and interviews, Lundale Farm contracted with Jacob Shultz, who wrote our 2019 Lundale Farm Sustainable Forestry Management Plan.
Now in its fourth year, the Forestry Committee of Lundale Farm is actively working to implement the Sustainable Forestry Management Plan. During our April 12 presentation, we will share more about the mission of Lundale Farm, elements of our sustainable forestry management plan, and research and experiences we’ve gained from developing and implementing the management plan. We hope you’ll join us.
